  1. 1.
a person, typically a woman, who engages in sexual activity for payment.
    synonyms:whoresex workercall girlwhite slave
verb
  1. 1.
offer (someone, typically a woman) for sexual activity in exchange for payment.
"although she was paid £15 to join a man at his table, she never prostituted herself"

Normal assumption is that prostitutes want this. The assumption is that they are bad girls. That pimps are cool. I have heard it said many times that a woman should have a right to do what she wants with her body. I am not here to debate that. I am here to discuss the vocabulary we accept and use as a society. I am here to challenge the use of the word "John" for instance. He gets the nice name that has anonymity she gets whore, etc.

Any Career

Any walk of life
   Johnny is a perpetrator.

Let's talk about these women who, supposedly, can't wait to have sex with dozens of men, from all walks of life, a week. Statistically the average age of girls becoming prostitutes is 12. They are children not woman. They being sex trafficked and are part of modern day slavery.

A 12 year old does NOT want to have sex with 280 lbs. 45 year old balding man or a 170 lbs. 24 year old hunky jock. She wants to hang out with friends, go to birthday parties, dream about the prom, go clothes shopping, or eat. She may want a bike, a cell phone, etc. But sex with dozens, then hundreds of men isn't on her wish list. We call her dirty words.

Fact, there is no such thing as a child prostitute.

On the other hand, guys just can't help themselves. They have a sex drive. They have needs. It is only natural. We make excuses for men that stray and leave little girls to work for their pimp and to struggle to survive.

Pimps are in business. I found this post (here) on the two main types of pimps.
Romeo Pimp
  • Compliments
  • Gifts
  • Declares his love
  • “Pretty Woman” life
  • modeling
Gorilla Pimp
  • Force (physically/emotionally abusive)
  • Kidnapping
  • Usually someone they know
  • Missing Children
  • Drugs/Alcohol
The aim is the same...make money. It does not matter if another human being is harmed along the way. What matters is money. Guns can be sold once. Drugs can be sold once. People can be sold repeatedly and they are disposable.

So there you have it. One guy wants money. One guy wants sex. 1+1=prostitution.

I know this is a lot to assimilate, however, if we don't open our eyes we can do nothing. I also realize that "knowing" makes us responsible and we may prefer to remain in the dark. If you have read this far you are seeking to know the truth. I applaud you. Please comment below. You can learn more about trafficking at Shared Hope International. Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

In future posts I will be addressing coercion.
